Geco Chemical was originally founded as a rig refurbishment company in the late 1970s and is a trusted leader in the region, delivering safe, high quality products. The rig refurbishment scope varies with every project and can range from a simple repair to a major docking lasting several months for the upgrade or replacement of old, obsolete and sometimes damaged equipment and machinery. Geco Chemical has developed its rig refurbishment facilities in Port Khalid and in the Hamriyah Free Zone in the Emirate of Sharjah, to specifically suit its docking operations with deep water berths to cater for all rig designs. The Company has successfully completed numerous refurbishment projects for drilling contractors, including Millennium Offshore Services, Noble Drilling, Ensco, Rowan, Seadrill, Hercules, Aban, Atwood, Saudi Aramco, Saipem, Transocean, Nabors, National Drilling Company, Arabian Drilling Company and Japan Drilling Company.
